The diagram to help with revising Anthology Pieces

Use this diagram to help with your revision.
You should be able to download it.

  1. Make sure you know the five techniques for each article (see post above this one on the test for this, and for possible answers). Each of these goes on a 'technique' box on the sheet.
  2. For each technique, find up to four quotations you would use to demonstrate this technique. Put these in the relevant box on the diagram.
  3. Fill in the impact box for each technique: you may have more than one impact per technique.
  4. Work out a mnemonic for each anthology piece to help you learn the techniques.
  5. Using a non-annotated anthology piece (print out fresh ones using the anthology document below), re-annotate the techniques on to it, using a different colour for each technique. Start off by doing this with your notes and annotated copy in front of you.
  6. Once you feel you know the piece well, re-annotate a fresh copy of it without any notes to help you.
Only now should you start to approach exam questions. Use the links below to access these.
